Restoration Begins with New Basement

Picture of the house shortly after it was built in the late 1800's.

Steel support beams installed.  The house is ready to lift.

As the lift begins, team member John Carr monitors one of four hydraulic jacks used to lift the house.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

House raised three quarters of the total lift.

Sixty foot long main lifting beam installed through perfect fit.           

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Structure lifted fortyeight inches.             The building is supported fortyeight inches above its' original foundation.  We begin to remove soil for the new foundation.

New poured concrete wall installed.  The house is ready to lower.             This picture shows the floor system, support steel and the new poured concrete basement.

Cribs with hydraulic jack set to lower the structure.             The building has been lowered thirty-six inches.  We are re setting the jacks for the final twelve inchs of lowering.

The structure is now resting on the new foundation.  The steel is free and ready for removal.             The building is leveled and resting on its' new foundation.  Carpenters will begin the renovation with the structure level.
