(left)  At this point the house has been lifted three feet above its' foundation.  Three large transfer beams have been inserted perpendicular to the length of the foundation.  These beams reach from the basement to the ground adjacent to it creating a bridge to allow the building to be rolled off its' foundation .

In this view you can see two of the four holes in the foundation.  These holes will be symmetrical and will allow installation of the main support beams.  The main support beams will run parallel with the house and underneath it.

In this view you can see three of the fourteen holes which will be prepared for installation of a layer of support steel running perpendicular to the house.  Notice the curved glass window on the side of the house.  It remained in tact and unbroken throughout the move.

Stacks of wooden blocking called cribs are assembled.  The cribs will be the base for the layers of steel and allow installation of hydraulic lifting jacks.

The large steel support beams have arrived.  These beams weigh over 13,000 pounds each.  The loader will carry them one at a time to the house.  Then they will be rolled under the house and over the cribs.

The second layer of steel has been installed.  The thirty foot tall masonry fireplace will remain in tact and be carried with the house.  Note the two steel support beams going through the fireplace.

Moving day!  As a gallery of anxious onlookers gather, crews ready the house for its' journey.  Tremendous cooperation was necessary as crews from City of Muskegon, Consumers Power Company, Verizon Telephone, Comcast and City of Muskegon Police department prepare the way for passage of this home.

(below)  Around the first corner we go!  Six more corners and les than two miles left to go.
