This 3000 square foot house was resting on a deteriorated foundation. Part of the foundation was basement with inadequate headroom and part was crawl space. We were hired to timber the house, jack it up and then roll it clear of the old foundation. After we rolled the house an excavating company demolished the old foundation and excavated to a depth to allow for a basement under the entire structure. With the old foundation removed and the excavation complete, new footings were installed. The picture above shows the house being prepared to roll back into position over the new footings. The beam visible in the lower left corner of the picture is one of four which will be used as bridges to allow the house to travel over the new footings at the proper height for the new basement. After the house is positioned the new basement walls will be constructed, then the house will be lowered. This foundation replacement allowed the homeowner to create a walkout basement and gain 2250 square feet of additional space.
